I and We of Earlville/ Balaclava have had enough of what is going on in our suburb, we have put up with anti Social behavior long enough, thugs are disrupting our normal way of life, you do not get one night of rest, up all night and then try to work the next day, if it was a work place with workplace health and safety someone would be held accountable, people are getting beat up , shops broken into, staff beaten, vandalism, not safe to go out at night, the police in action is who i hold accountable for this and to have the largest housing commission in Queensland  smack in the middle of it,

We have been putting up with this for over 15 to 20 years, but this year is out of control, We need to stop this permanently now , the Qld Govt should sell off the housing commission area back to private people, do not subsidies the existing tenants any more, find the trouble makers and hold them accountable for there actions.

I am totally mystified by how decent people who contribute to society have to put up with others who do nothing for society and try very hard to disrupt the good ones, the laws that are in place ,protect the crook and keep the victims lining up for more, something has to be done and now is the time.

Wayne.  Do you really think the police are not trying to do something about this?  Do think they sitting around the station at night drinking coffee or looking for ways out of doing their job, Or are they doing their best against over whelming odds with very limited resourses couples with court and accountability admin tasks?  Do you really believe the constable in the street being spat at, punched and abused has any authority to change this or does he/she simple have to try and do their best day/night in day/night out.  Perhaps you can walk a mile in their shoes and see how the blisters form on your feet.

I feel your pain Wayne.

Exactly what your describing is happening in Edge Hill in 2011/12

I Blame Dept of Housing for alot of the problems. There is a reason there is a Yarrabah. Keep the animals all grouped in one spot, dont spread them around.

At this point the only real way I see this crap from stopping is if police starting shooting these idiots, .. that or bundle them all up on buses with a heap of tents and some grog and take them out to the middle of nowhere, where there is nothing for them to steal/vandalism/rape ... and let them destroy themselves.

BE WARNED YOU ARE BEING WATCHED

If you are intending to assult or rob someone be warned there are eyes watching you in the CBD.

Cameras are located all around the CBD and are manned 24/7 so if you assult or rob anyone you maybe filmed and you will end up in court and perhaps jail.

The most sensible approach is to behave, cut down on the drink and walk away if someone wants to start a fight.

Residents Against Crimes Founder - 2007

I am dedicated to help prevent crimes in Cairns and the surrounding area. This city has unfortunately gone from bad to worse in regards to crime and we the residents of this great city need to band together and put pressure on our local representatives and let them know that we will not tolerate this behaviour. I will continue to pave the way for better living in peace and enable families and kids to enjoy the life the we enjoyed years ago without the fear of being assulted. This is not about me its about the community working together to make this a better place to live.

REMEMBER: TO BE A GREAT CITY, IT FIRST MUST BE A SAFE CITY.
